Manav Bharti University established in 2009 under the H.P. The University is located at Kathgarh, the seat of the famous Lord Shiva temple, near village Mirthal, 25 Km from/ on Pathankot- Jalandhar Highway (NH-1A). Pathankot is well connected by Train/ Bus on Delhi- Jammu main line, to Amritsar, Jalandhar, Gurudaspur, Hoshiarpur, Ropar Jammu and Kangra, Dalhousie and Dharmasala. Pathankot is also connected by Air from Delhi.

The University in its first phase has a campus of 120 acres and with a constructed area of 4.5 lakh sq ft (approx). The second phase will have College of Medical Sciences, College of Dental Sciences and College of Nursing Sciences in the additional campus of 450 acres.

Green Hills Engineering College is a newly opened engineering college situated near Kumarhatti in village Gandhi Gram on the Nahan Road which falls under the district Solan of Himachal Pradesh,(India). It is about 60 kilometers from Shimla and Chandigarh equally.

Trades Available

Originally, Green Hills Engineering College had four trades.

1. Computer Science Engineering.
2. Mechanical Engineering.
3. Electronics & Communications Engineering.
4. Electrical Engineering.

These trades continued till 2006-2007 academic year. In 2007—2008 session, Information Technology Engineering was also introduced.

Infrastructure

The college has a medium to rich infrastructure. The main buildings of the college are :-

1. Administrative block (also known as Computer Science block).
2. Electronics & Communication block.
3. Mechanical Engineering block.
4. Electrical Engineering block.
5. IT Block.
6. A full fledged workshop.

Besides the educational buildings, there are three hostels. Two hostels are for boys and one is for girls. A modern yet expensive canteen is also within the premises of the college. All the buildings are being constantly upgraded and plans for new buildings are under consideration.

Connectivity

The college is connected with BSNL Broadband connection which runs at a maximum speed of 2 Mbit/s. The main DHCP server is installed in the Administrative Block. A Local Area Network then connects the computers of the college to one another and also to the Internet. A small wireless network also resides in the Administrative Block. Plans to increase the coverage of the wi-fi connection were also taken under consideration but never implemented.

Akal College of Engineering & Technology Admission Procedure:

Admission will be based on All-India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by the Government of India. Seats would also be available in the Management category, as per Rules & Regulations in force, based on merit.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Wayne State University (WSU), Detroit, Michigan, U.S. and Akal University, H.P. India on December 26, 2005 for establishing possible academic collaborative and cooperative arrangements. Among many other things mentioned in the MOU, it will specifically take care of the following:

1. It will facilitate the admission of Akal University students to WSU, immediately, with certain favorable considerations.
2. It will allow exchange of scholars between the two institutions.
3. It will allow Akal Engineering students to transfer to WSU after two years’ study at Baru Sahib, and complete the degree at WSU.
4. It will allow joint education/research projects between the two institutions.

National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur was established in 1986 as a joint and Co-operative enterprise of the Govt. of India and Govt. of Himachal Pradesh.
